Studio 900 Design brings together Vincenzo Savastano and Gökçe Nur Karaaslan, an Italian and Turkish duo, both educated in Florence, and fuses their interior design and fashion design experiences in a new creative office concept that extends from interior design to men’s fashion. Studio 900 Design, based in the Balat district of Istanbul’s Golden Horn coasts, was founded in July 2014. The duo, which reflects their European aesthetics on private interior design projects, restoration of historic buildings and interior design collections, was inspired by their base Balat for their first collection, and called it the “Palation Collection” taking the name from the district’s historic roots.
The collection featuring pieces created with bent iron and antiquated wood helped Studio 900 Design launch collaborations with major design stores in Turkey, including a UK-based retailer. These collaborations continue with the “Geometrico Collection”, inspired by lean geometric lines and silhouettes, featuring a living group with dominant European influences of the 1900s. Studio 900 Design has recently added two new collections. The first one is “Casa Privata”, consisting of pieces designed exclusively for office and residential projects. The other is “Studio 900 Vintage”, featuring restored vintage pieces specifically selected in and imported from Northern Europe and Italy.
